Cambodia!!

So, it's been a long time, huh? About a year? My last summer was absolutely amazing ( you can read about it at this blog), and now I am finishing up my freshman year of college. God has done so much in my life over the past year, and continues to amaze me daily. Summer is quickly approaching again and I wanted to make it known that I am going to be traveling with Teen Missions again this summer; this time to Cambodia! I am so excited, especially since my younger sister will be joining me as well this summer. I plan to post some weekly updates here, as well as interesting information about Cambodia, so stay posted and let us witness together what the Lord will do!

Blessings,
Elsie Anne

A Home Missionary

Hey All,

After my amazing trip to Zambia last summer I was excited about what the Lord had in store for me this summer. I awaited in eager anticipation to hear from Him what country I would be sent to. When the answer came, it was not at all what I had eagerly anticipated.

"Not this summer," He said. My request, my passion for mission, had been denied, the Lord has said no. For several weeks I despaired of what to do for three whole months this summer, but as I waited patiently on the Lord, expecting no specific answer, He was faithful to open doors of opportunity to me. My summer is quite full now. I have a national speech and debate competition in early June, am attending Summit Leadership Camp in late June, am helping to coordinate a live Rebelution Conference in July, and also in July am attending a conference with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Then, before I know it, I'll be off to school for a whole new adventure!

Isn't the Lord gracious? When we wait upon Him He may not give us the answer we expect, but He instead gives us the answer that is best for us. Don't complain that His plan doesn't fit yours; rejoice in the opportunities He offers, knowing that His plan is always better than our own.

The Universal Call to Mission

On my personal blog I have posted an article titled:

It speaks of something I have recently learned concerning God's call to missions, and his command for us to preach the Gospel to those who have never heard. Don't think you're called to mission? Think again.

Back in Ndola-Unexpected Blessings

Once back at the base on Saturday morning we took two days to just rest and figure out what our "plan B" would be. Each of us was wondering what we would do with the extra time at the base as we were there three to four days early. What a blessing it was when we learned that Monday and Tuesday would be spent taking day trips to units an hour away and 45 minutes away, respectively. On Monday we took the bus to Lu Piya and taught a morning and afternoon session, and on Tuesday we headed back to Chiwala and taught two morning sessions. As I helped the children get into position and smiled back at their beaming faces and twinkling eyes I knew that Romans 8:28 was being fulfilled. My God was working everything together for good because we loved him and had been called according to His purpose. If not for the robbery we would not have had the chance to reach two additional units; God is good!
